A drone photoshoot is one hour with a registered, licensed and insured pilot, delivered as 20 edited aerial photos and a 30–60-second aerial clip within 3–5 days, from $249. The flight plan is checked against no-fly zones and park rules before we confirm the location.
Thai law requires every drone to be registered with both the CAAT and the NBTC, with third-party liability insurance. Flights stay within the pilot’s line of sight, in daylight and below 90 metres. Airports are off-limits — Mai Khao beach sits right beside Phuket airport, and Samui airport lies between Chaweng and Bophut — as are royal palaces and military sites.
Many famous spots are national parks — Phi Phi, Phang Nga Bay, Ang Thong — and flying there needs a separate permit from the parks department. That is why we fly our own registered drones and pick beaches, sandbars and viewpoints where flying is allowed. Rules change, and we recheck them before every booking rather than relying on last season’s answer.
Frequently asked questions: drone photo & video
Is it legal to fly a drone in Thailand?
Yes, if the drone is registered with both the CAAT and the NBTC and the pilot carries third-party insurance — which is why we fly our own registered drones rather than yours. Airports, royal palaces, military areas and some national parks are off-limits; we choose locations where flying is allowed.
