A vacation photoshoot in Thailand is a 30-minute session with a local photographer at a beach, viewpoint or old town near your hotel, from $89, with 20 edited photos in a private online gallery within 48–72 hours. The photographer chooses the spot for the light at your start time, so you are not squinting into the sun.
Timing matters more here than in Europe. Between ten and four the sun is almost overhead, faces fill with shadow and the sea turns white, so book sunrise or the last ninety minutes before sunset. Season matters too: Phuket, Krabi and Phi Phi on the Andaman coast get most of their rain from May to October, Samui and the Gulf islands from October to December. Tropical showers usually pass within the hour, and a washed-out session is rescheduled.
Wear light, plain colours that hold up in humidity — linen, cotton, one solid tone — and skip heavy foundation, which slides in the heat; the hair and make-up add-on (+$89) uses humidity-proof products. Add a highlight reel (+$129) or drone shots (+$119) if you want the place itself in the frame.
Frequently asked questions: vacation photoshoot
What time should we book?
Sunrise or the last ninety minutes before sunset. Between ten and four the tropical sun is almost overhead: faces fill with shadow, everyone squints and the sea turns white. We will suggest the exact start time for your date and location.
How much does a vacation photoshoot in Thailand cost?
From $89 for 30 minutes and 20 edited photos, the same price in every destination we cover. Thirty more minutes and 20 more photos are +$59, or +$99 for an extra hour. A highlight reel is +$129, drone shots +$119 and ten photos the same evening +$29. The price is fixed in US dollars and agreed before you book.
Where does the photoshoot take place?
At the best beach, viewpoint or old-town street nearest your hotel, chosen for the light at your start time. Each destination page lists the areas we cover with no travel charge. Hotel grounds are possible too: most resorts welcome a session for their own guests, and we check with yours before the day.
What should we wear?
Light, solid colours — white, cream, sand, soft pastels, or a strong red or coral against the turquoise water — in breathable linen, cotton or chiffon. Avoid busy prints, logos, neon and anything the colour of the sea. Go barefoot on the sand, and cover shoulders and knees if the shoot includes a temple.
What if it rains on the day?
We move the start time or reschedule at no cost. Tropical showers usually pass within the hour, so most sessions simply start a little later.
When do we get the photos?
Within 48–72 hours, in a private online gallery you can download from and share. If you want something to post the same evening, the same-day preview add-on (+$29) sends ten edited photos that night.
