A family photoshoot in Thailand is a 30-minute session at your hotel or the nearest good beach, from $109, for up to six people, with 20 edited photos delivered to a private gallery within 48–72 hours. Larger groups — grandparents, cousins — are possible on request.
With small children the best slot is early morning, around seven. Children are fresh, the sand is still cool and the beach is empty; by ten the heat makes everyone cross, and the sunset slot clashes with dinner and tiredness. The photographer comes to you, so there is no travel with a pushchair. On the Andaman side (Phuket, Krabi, Khao Lak) mornings are also the driest part of the day from May to October.
Dress the family in two or three colours that go together, and avoid large prints and logos. Bring water, a snack and a spare top for anyone likely to end up in the sea. Drone shots (+$119) give a picture of the whole family on an empty beach; a highlight reel (+$129) keeps the voices.
